So looks like BMWUSA finally has approved the Remote app for US users. It is available for download on itunes USA. I installed it and had to call BMW assist to get it enabled for me. IT can only lock and unlock the car if within .6 miles range. Also you can use Google maps to send the car the address.
The locking and unlocking works fine... about 30 second lag.. it only locks or unlocks driver door. The sending of address to the car seems to fail at the app reports that... Did someone get that to work??? It can also tell you the location of the car.. again in the .6 mile radius only....

Well, this kind of sucks. I have a "MyBMW" account, but this does not work (even though the app says it does). I called BMW Assist support, and they told me that you must have an active BMW Assist account ($139/yr or something like that) in order to use the iPhone app.
Not worth it to me, but maybe so to others.

You should all pay attention to the requirements for this app, an active BMW assist account and a car thats at least model year 2008.
