That sucks... But in the end they are just machines and replaceable with something better! Good luck with your insurance company!

Man, it's rough to see these beauty cars all burnt out like that....

Fortunately for insurance, you will have a new one soon, and you get the fun of picking which one it will be. Sorry about your loss tho.

I'm sorry for your loss. I can't imaging the degree of heat caused by this fire. Other than the frame, the entire car is milted.

Do you know the cause of the fire yet?

WOW!

BUt I rather have that then a minor one where they can "fix" it... this way you'll get a new car from the insurance.

Thx again for the support guys. It's correct cars can be replaced, people don't. But it still had an emotional value for us since my son learned to drive in this car + some things were still in it which also had an emotional value

Experts say it'll be because an electronic device in a car got fire and caused the fire...

OMG. Sorry to hear about the fire -- I hope all works out for the owner, other car owners and yourself.

Looking forward and the positive side of this terrible situation, at least you can order a new car!

I drove through Belgium yesterday and couldn't get over how many 320d and 520d there were on the roads -- makes perfect sense to me though in a country where the speed limits are so rigorously policed. As for your comment about x-drive and snow, I totally agree -- you really don't need it in your part of the world. If you can and budget permits, I would go for a 530d. My 525d is enough, but it is missing that extra kick that the 530d has and the 530d's fuel consumption is basically the same as the 525d.

Good luck with it all...
