My Ride: Oct 2007: 525d SE Auto, Space Grey, Black Leather, Visibility Pack, Luxury Pack, Media Pack, Rear Air Bags, Space Saver Spare, Comfort Access, Auto Dim mirror + Ext folding, Through Load System, All round heated seats, Extended interior light pack, DAB, Logic 7, USB Interface and HUD.
When will this actually appear on a car?
I ask, as I have noticed that my headlights "move" not just round corners but depending on speed and/or the fog lights on mush as described. Although replace left with right, being RHD in the UK.
When I pull away, the beam is wider, then as I hit about 30mph the beam narrows and projects. If I put the front fog lights on, the beam spreads and drops down - which confused me the first time I put them on. Go faster and again the beams seem to adjust again.
I have an adaptive light pack from the UK Visibility pack - I take it this is the normal and not this new feature?
Car built late October 2007, a quick check of the BMW web site doesn't show any new options for lighting. Have I a new toy I didn't know was there??

In the UK ( and some other European countries ) this will be interesting as its illegal to run with the fog lights on unless there are restricted visibility driving conditions....like fog.
Hence... Fog Lights.

In those places where its illegal to run with fogs on you can bet that BMW will just disable that part of it via software. Just like how canada requires DRLs and US doesnt... yet... and those cars are delivered with DRLs turned on in Canada...
