Isn't this kinda old news for them to be placing it on the front page of thier website. There's some really serious BMW haters out there, to be placing this ahead of some of the stories going on in the world today.

Is there any news on a recall letter going out on this issue? Has anyone received one yet?

My wife keeps the passenger side on all the time and after a while you can smell the leather burning. Will be interesting to see if mine get replaced.

BMW will recall ALL cars worldwide that are possibly affected and at least have a look at the wiring.

I had my 530i in to the dealer for its 1 year "checkup" last week, and asked about the "heated seat" recall. The service advisor had no idea what I was talking about. I showed him the NHTSA recall notice and he said he would check. When I picked up the car my service invoice stated: "8552 Can not perform recall not authorized by BMW DCS yet."
