BMW E60, cupholder install
Hey i currently have an E60 without cupholders and im curious as too can i install them myself? Does it just reguire a trim panel or do i have to install something else?

I recently had my cupholders out and I can say they seem to need the trim piece and nothing else in order to be installed.
i don't use mine much, tbh i find the driver's side one a bit stupid. it is too far from ghe driver and too mechanically complex. if i didn't have them I wouldn't be in a rush to add them.

So i think i need the entire "new" dashboard thing, because i dont have cupholders at all but i want them because its always nice to have.. but i think it might be a way bigger issue to install and much more just to install cupholders..

This is what they look like and you need a torx screwdriver, takes about 10 min to replace both. Check eBay, there are Chinese knockoffs for cheap:

I think he needs the section of dashboard with holes in it as well. I suspect that a used piece from a wrecked car would be the only way to get this.
Good to know about the knock-off replacements though. Mine are still okay but they look like parts that will fail eventually.
