Done.
I am curious as to which school you are attending and what degree are you pursuing.
I'm going for a BBA degree at a school called Turku School of Applied Sciences here in Finland. Currently I have done everything else except the Bachelor's Thesis which will then allow me to graduate, finally.

Again, thanks to everyone for responses and support- the amount of feedback this has generated so far has been a very positive surprise for me!

Quite right, for a standing start. The advantage of the greater torque comes in for on-the-move acceleration: BMW's figures have the 530d going from 50 to 70mph in 5.1secs vs. the 530i's 6.6s, the 540i's 6.2s and the 550i's 5.1s (a match). I could not find the numbers for the 535d and 535i, but you get the idea. So, on the move, especially on the sort of sinewy twisty country roads we all love , I'd reckon that a 535d will do more than just keep up with a 550i.

Don't know if it makes a difference to you, but I answered 'no' to the 'do you own a BMW?' question because mine hasn't arrived yet, so technically I don't own one, but it's just a matter of time (and hoping for good luck that the boat doesn't sink or tip over).
You may not "own" your BMW yet, but it surely owns you (not a bad thing...).

Submitted. With so much torque, why is the 535d so much slower in 0-60 run? Also in the US, diesel is taxed differently than gasoline which makes diesel usually more expensive. I think in Europe diesel is cheaper than gasoline. We do this here to push a higher financial burden on the commercial vehicle users, as they are currently the only users of diesel. The US should remove that incremental difference in taxes for the general public, whereby lowering diesel per gallon costs, thus further incouraging diesel acceptance by the general public. Letting diesel buyers use the currently useless HOV lanes would also help significantly in diesel acceptance.
Not true. Diesel is almost always more expensive that Petrol in Europe. Its only in places like Asia and that too if the government decides to subsidise diesel it it cheaper.

Depends on the country. Here in Finland diesel costs 20-25 cents less than gasoline, but diesel-powered cars have higher annual taxation which makes it a bit more expensive to own one. However, when your driving tops 12000-15000 miles a year, the diesel version becomes cheaper to maintain due to better fuel economy and the lower cost of diesel fuel.

I haven't been to Germany for a while now, but I remember seeing there that diesel fuel costs slightly less than gasoline. In France diesel cars account more than two-thirds of their annual car sales.

Again thanks to everyone for participating my survey! You can still keep 'em coming!
