This thread helped me aswel changed my water pump a day ago then was Interested in knowing engine temperature
After checking was only going to 60 70 then cooling back down and going back to 70 max and that tool over 40 mins to get there
Car felt bit down in power changed engine thermostat, egr thermostat, new air filter as it needed a change and bmw coolant
Oil was changed 2 weeks ago
It went up to 95 around town and that was in 15-20'mins around
Best bit car feels super fast all the power has come
Back
Feels like my mates 535d mine is a 530d
Thanks for the help with the hidden menu
Any one know when the car is over heating at what figure will be got to know
When to get worried
also at what temp does the fan kick in

Hi Gents
After replacing both my EGR stat and main stat this weekend, i accessed the OBC temperature display and went for a spin round the M60. Temps slowly rose to 85 but when i dropped gear and drove it hard the temps would drop to 60-65. People are mentioning the Oil cooler for the Automatic box having a stat and failing? Does anyone know the part number? The car is still under warranty so i'm chasing them up for the cash!
Thanks in advance
Stuart

Just hope the bad weather holds off until tomorrow to allow me to fit it!

Update
Replaced heat exchanger today and took the car out for a drive round town where the maximum temp reached was 89/90. However, when you put you foot down, as you do on the slip road to the motorway and the revs jump to 3k+ the temps rapidly dropped to 69. Is this right? Taking into account the increase in the intake air, air supply to the rad and the ambiant being 6.5 i'd expect some drop but not as much as this and the speed in which it dropped!
Any advice greatly recieved as i've now replaced all 3 stats, this was due to the 'Particle Filter Failure warning on the I-drive. Other than low temps, i can't say i've noticed a difference in anything else, did an hours drive on the m61 keeping revs at 3k and my fuel consumption came back at 29mpg. There doesn't seem to be a lack of power (maybe a slight delay in delivery) but i need to try and resolve whilst the car is still under warranty.
Thanks in advance

Just another thought, is it possible that one of the sensors in the DPF could be giving a false signal. Today it took 15 mins before the DPF fault appeared, usually it's 5 mins.
