I'm considering the 2-day driving school (regular, not M). Any comments from those of you who have been through it? I have many years' driving experience, but you can always learn more. Thanks in advance.

Been driving on lake and ocean ice since I was 12 YOA.
My step dad was a sales manager overhere for MB's and
Audi's and later (1975) also for BMW's.
We had a cottage up north and the border rangers plowed
every winter a about one mile circuit on the lake.
Every morning we drove and filled the car so I could drive all
day.
In those days we also lived in Westend and there was a ice ocean
circuit outside our house.
I have raced with the best Finnish Rally drivers there.
I'm talking about MB's 220 and 250, Audi 100 Coup? S and BMW
518, 520 and 525i.
All brand new '70's cars.
About any school/education: It's always worth it

Thanks. I was thinking specifically of the BMW Performance School in South Carolina (US).
Go for it!
In SC maybe they do not have ice

I took a one day course put on by Driving Unlimited through our local BMW club. It was just a "level one" course called vehicle dynamics. Everyone really enjoyed it, just traffic cones on an airstrip, but definately time well spent.

In my opinion, you can never attend too many driver's schools. You may have years of driving experience but if you've never attended a driver's school on a track, you don't know how inexperienced you are...
Take the course and let us know how long it takes you to wipe the smile off your face!

My parents were kind enough to give me the driving school as a birthday gift but with all the hurricane mess down here, I have yet to book it. Very much looking forward to the experience...

Just got back from the one day M5 owner's experience yesterday. It was great fun and learned some good stuff, mostly improving apexing and general vehicle dynamics. I also paid for an hour the next day for an instructor and M5. Got more out of that than the full day in the M school. I recommend their program it but if you have previous experience, step up to the M program. Also saw the new X5 in testing and will post a pict if I can figure out how.
