Default BMW cranks, but won't start

Hello

Last night I wanted to start my car, but my e60 would not start.

I just read the car and there were several error codes: 4477, 4203, 44E2 and 4587. Now that I've read on the internet that it may be due to the crankshaft sensor?

What I also found out is that the vacuum pump made a weird sound, so I also ordered a new one that I'm going to replace. Could it also be due to the vacuum pump that my car will not start?

Thanks in advance!

I would not think it is the vacuum pump because that is not needed to start the car. Have you tried changing the sensor? What year model and mileage is your car? That will help us out. Also how did you get the codes? Have you did anything with the car before you tried to start it? Have you tried the other key? Since it cranks you know its not the started now you have to see if it is getting gas or could be the DME.

It is a E60 from 2005. I checked the codes using Delphi with my laptop. The sensor gave me no fault. I also checked the fuse for the fuel pump, but the fuse was good.

pull up live data on your diagnostic machine, crank the engine, look at the data, does it show engine RPM fairly consistent around 2-300rpm? if it does crank sensor is likely ok, if no reading or sporadic, crank sensor is dead.

pretty low, even the diesels crank around 2-300rpm, however if its showing a reading the crank sensor is likely fine and you need to look elsewhere.

The dealer called and they 'fixed' the car. The fuel gauge was showing 50%, so I thought I have enough fuel, but they saw there was no fuel and added some fuel and the car started. So does someone now what is broken? A sensor or something.
thanks

Sounds like you need a new fuel gauge. You can test it out. Go to the gas station and fill up. Zero out the trip odometer. Car takes like 18 gallons. You should get 360 miles out of that. As you drive the next 300 miles, how does the gauge behave? After 300 miles, it should be down near empty.

Car has two fuel level sensors, chances are one has failed and is preporting "full" so when your empty the instrument cluster averages teh two senders and reports ~ half a tank. bmw diagnostic software will tell you which sender. Im not overly familiar with the e60 fuel system (mine has never gave any trouble) but this also happens on x5's and in that case its the syphon pump (in tank) which failes, so one half of the tank is full of fuel, and the side which the engine draws fuel from is empty resulting in a reading on the gauge (usually about 1/4-1/3) and a non start.
