Can some one guide me to a web site/document where i can see what;s the BMW criteria is for various services ? I recently bought a Certified 530i with 18,000 miles and with in 500 miles my Microfilter service light is on and i am having difficul time making the BMW dealership understand that they have to pay for the filters.
My brakes need servicing in 6000 miles that doesn't make any sense to me ? Like others i am starting to believe that certification is nothing but a bull shit. It's only good as a warranty but then again i would rather buy a non CPO low mileage car and buy an after market warranty.
Please advice ?
Thanks

Sir,
I know what BMW covers and what it does not cover ? I also do not need to know what they check and what they don't check in certification. However, what i would like to know is,how many miles this recently acquired BMW (certified) is driven, before it needs it's next:
1)-Oil service
2)-Transmission service
3)-Brake service
4)-Filters
5)-All other services.

Thanks

I dont think they would do the brakes and cabin filters etc, if there was still considerable time left on the clock... 6,000 plus miles is a considerable amount of time. Maybe I and others are misunderstanding your question(s)... have you asked your dealer/service advisor these questions?

I think they have to bring everything within a certain level of "spec". i.e. wear on brakes, tires, etc. Then your car goes through it's normal cycles from there. If you were "mid cycle" (i.e. on oil) and the car is still under the original maintenance coverage, my assumption is they will just wait until the next required maintenance. I think some of this is calculated based on driving habits vs milage intervals.
