Hey everyone..today I went on town fair place to set up my wheels,do the balance,alignment when the guy saw my wheels Front 19' tire 245/35/19 8.5 and rear 275/30/19 9.5,He said I cant do that .. why not ? Because your car is Xi AwD you not supposed do this.. how come I don't supposed do it ? yes your car has a transmission in the middle,this transmission sent the speed for your 4 wheels on the same way,if you install this set up on your car, you gonna break this transmission because your tire on the back is big them tires on the front, the tires on the rear gonna run more fast them tires on the front gonna low speed,when this happen you go break your transmission ,you have to ride on the same size wheels anh tires on cars AWD 8.5 front 8.5 rear.. it is true guys ? make sense what he said ? anyone has this experience..

 

... 'bout this again ... it's been discussed so many times ... for a start take a look those X5 ... especially the one that has big wheel setup ... X5 is AWD and there are staggered setup ... also if you go w/ Style 124 wheel option it's available in staggered ... show them those if you want to argue your case ... I'm on staggered for almost 3 years now and have no problem.

Go use the tire calculator = http://www.1010tires...ecalculator.asp enter your stock size and the new 245 & 275 and you'll see they all comes down to almost the same.

Do the search you'll find the fact!

 

You need to get to a wheel and tire shop that is actually experienced and equipped to work on your car. If that were the case they would know that staggered wheel and tire set-ups are actually offered as BMW Installed Options on several xi models. BTW, if you use this site http://www.miata.net...e/tirecalc.html you'd see that the actually difference in the rolling radius between the two tire sizes you mention is about 2/10" ... not much more than slightly uneven tire wear might also cause.
