Has anyone experienced this issue with not being able to connect to BMW Assist? It appears that I have lost my signal strength indicator in IDrive. When I press the SOS button, I get a connection error and I immediately get connected to 911.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Had the same thing happen to me. The Dealer wound up replacing the BMW Assist Module.

Good Luck

Same for me, it was a faulty TCU. My dealer said they have replaced a lot of these and are now quite proficient at it.

Same thing happen to me and it also said on the display SOS Malfunction.Dealer put in 4 TCU Units before they got it right. Two weeks later I took a trip and when I was in Georgia I wanted to check out the BMW Assist for a location and couldn't get through.Contacted them via cell phone and they said I probabaly need another new TCU Unit. Took the car back to the dealer to have it taken care of and they said everything was OK that I was in a area that there was a bad cell and thats why it wouldnot go through to BMW Assist. Its working fine now,My question is. What if I have an accident and I'm in a area where there is a bad cell ,what good is BMW Assist if the signal doesn't go through?
cheers

Over here in Singapore, the SOS button connects you to the police. I believe this is what that button should be for anyway - in case of an accident or emergency.

The connection to BMW assist can be found in the i-drive under communications. It can be found in the top most line.

Understood; but it still didn't go through. When you press the SOS button or get in a accident you should get contact with BMW Assist.
