My 08 535 is about to expire both BMW Assist and BMW Roadside assistance. What do you think should I renew them?
BMW assist is $199 a year and Roadside is $99 a year. During the four year period I never used those two features. Thinking as car gets old maybe a good idea to purchase the roadsied assistance.

You can probably get the same level of service from AAA or your insurance company for much less. Not sure where the BMW assist/Roadside service will bring value? Possibly knowing where the closer dealer is, something you already know...

well unless you're planning to get that android app or apple app that supposedly let you read txt on your I-drive screen, then I seriously do not see the point of BMW assist. AAA or Allstate is only around 50 bucks a year.

Don't discount BMW Assist. I belive it can help track your vehicle if it is stolen. Also, if you're in a car wreck, it will contact the local authorities and they can find you via GPS.

Should have been clearer in my post; I was referring to the $ 99 per year charge for roadside.

Anyway, BMW assist is similar to GM Onstar, IMO. Never use it in my Escalade either. And if one day someone does steal my car and trash it, may be it's a sign for me to get a different car.

Get the roadside.

Actually I just let my assist expire and had a incident when BMW towed my car for free (I was hesitant to call thinking I would be charged for it when it expired but they said there was no charge). I have extended maintainence on the car - not sure if that covers the roadside assistance.

BTW, where did you get the quote for the $99 assistance?

If you need a jumpstart IMO, any major credit card will cover that now a days.
