Why what does it do?

You can configure routes on the internet and send them to your car, as well as phone numbers or simple notes.
BMW Assist can send you routes or infos.
I once needed a pharmacy and was in a city I didn't knew. I called them and they told me the address and send me the nav info. You just click on it and say, set as destination...
They do everything for you... Search for phone numbers, etc...
No additional charge like in the US. Of course you would have to pay the tickets they reserve for you, or the flowers they sent to someone in your name, but no charge for their assistance...
Advanced traffic infos (more and better than TMC)...
And of course they also get informed if you crash and call you to see what they can do for you...

I have to believe this can be added in the States. If not, it will be good bye Mr. Assist. So far, it's not worth the extra weight we carry around just for this non service. <_<

US only leads in wars and war technologies, but not in comsumer tech. It's the other way around in Europe, I guess. Social service is way better in EU compared to US.

You're right AlohaLC, there is no need to sign another year.
