I think the 550 is an all purpose car and can meet the needs of anybody. Plenty of room, power, options, and comfort.
2 seater is fun if you are single or a playboy. Like mentioned if youre 6 ft + tall dont bother getting the 2 seater.

I was in the SAME exact situation with you a year ago. SLK 55 vs 550i....

SLK55 was REALLY nice and veryyyy fast, but it was tiny! Plus it felt like a chick car too because it's so small.

I bought the 550i and never turned back.
