Nice video Andy 288km/h on a 2 lane AB is little to much and it is easy that some one block your way.

Are you saying your stock 545i does 288 kmh of speedometer, then more than real 280 kmh ?
Pls activate the speed men? next time, so you will know real speed .

I want M5 clusterrrr!!!!
What kind of problem does it have now ?
Only the current km of the car ?
I didn't see errors/lights on it .

But my question is : which top speed would have my 545i, that has +50 HP at the wheels ?
(+15 because of the steptronic, others by mods)

Finally, can you upload it on YT ? I have to show it to a person .

Bye and congrats!

And it is not the max speed, eh ?
Reach the max speed is a long job, a few seconds aren't enough .

Alex, the only thing I am interested at those speeds are the road (and HUD speed) !

Alex, I answered this some time ago: no errors while in M mode of the steptronic. In D/DS: transmission error message.

I don't know !

Correct Alex. 288 was the highest speed I could reach before the autobahn ended into a national road. Things are pretty brisk up to 280 and then slow down. I achieved an rpm indication of 5300rpm at 288km/h (180mph) with the limiter now set at 6300rpm, so theoretically another 45km/h + from an engine/transmission standpoint is acheivable but not likely on a flat surface.

I do however expect the 545i will reach natively 300 if given the space and oppurtunity - will be tested next spring now !

I guess, it's all a perspective thing man, 3 lanes can be tricky as well...did you see me avoid the plastic bag on the road at the end of the video ? what works for me is to look waaay ahead, balance risk, preplan course of action then translate it into pedal/steering input !

correct. Small snag though, you need to follow a procedure similar to the M5 cluster - when you go for a software update and get connected to the computer, Progman notifies which components will get "updated" - if the DME is not mentioned, I keep my remapped DME on without any problems. Remap is not affected. However, if DME is included in the update, remove remapped DME, install stock DME and reinstall remapped once again.

All this must be done locally at the dealer. You cannot swap before as the previous DME holds the last code from the immobiliser (when switching off the engine it changes every time!) which the swapped one does not have --> therefore engine will not start.

You only need the stock DME for the update and only if the DME needs an update.
