Thumbs up

ok - so I want to switch out my Sat module with a Bluetooth TCU module. My question is, would I be able to stream music (Pandora) from my phone through the TCU module via bluetooth or are they just only for phone calls?

I have an '04 530.
I am currently using the Motorola Bluetooth FM transmitter clip to my visor but wanted something a little more integrated.

What have others done?

Thanks...

Only the Combox is capable of doing what you want. That was never fitted to the E60 but can be retrofitted to a CIC based system in your car.

Ok so the only way to get this is to do a CIC retrofit. So much for that idea.

Thanks for the information.

If you have an audio AUX in your car, you can use a Bluetooth receiver with 3.5mm connector and use it this way as I am currently using in my car.

No - as far as I can tell my car[04 530i] doesn't have an AUX port. Did you do a retrofit to add the AUX? Cost? parts? DIY?

Also - which Bluetooth receiver are you using?

Thanks.

My car is 06 and comes with aux and USB connector which are in the middle console.
I ordered Belkin, (Belkin F8Z492-P) but after receiving the BT I noticed, the BT needs to be connected to the power source to be able to connect to your phone.
Unfortunately, the Bluetooth only comes with home charger and there is no car charger available for it. So I checked the current and Voltage, and find out Samsung (800 series) car charge works perfectly with this device and use the same type connector.
I?ve just found the USB to Bluetooth connector charger (Actually it is for some type of remote toy like helicopter that I think it will work), So ultimately, I will leave the Bluetooth in the middle console and using USB connector for power source.
I think you can search the internet for something more connivances, but make sure it is 3.5 mm to BT, comes with car charger or USB type connector and also make sure it supports A2DP for steaming.
In any cases should works.
I can tell the sound quality with this Belkin BT is amazing.
