kscarrol,
I had the same problem, the needle would move up and down but the engine rpm did not change. In fact I even went into the hidden digital rpm and confirmed this.
They fixed the problem by replacing the instrument cluster.

Thanks Streak! Remind me where I can find the hidden digital RPM. I recall someone mentioning it earlier, but have never done it.

I understand from our local dealership that the eyebrow will return with the 18.1.?

And my eyebrow lights still function normally, no change from v. 15.0 that I was running before.

JDN, I stood there with the tech and listened and he claimed that the sound was the Aux fan or some fan that was getting up to speed and then winding down once I killed the engine.? Guess I just never noticed it before, but seemed awfully loud to me.? Guess we'll have to wait and see, didn't have time to stick around and argue.? And boy does that wood trim look soooo much better than the plastic it replaced!

I'll admit, it doesn't sound like the same situation that I had. The noise that was corrected with a new AC was constant and did not wind down.

Correct me if I am wrong - I gather from the postings that US versions of CIP upgrade did not affect the "eyebrow" with 17.x

Oh the joy!? Silence at last, at least for a while.? New door seals are a vast improvement.?

I wouldn't know for how long you would enjoy this silence after new door seals - mine had the creaks coming back barely 2 months after change

Olivin, you're right, but for now (three weeks) they are fine. I do get the very occasional creak going over our bumpy streets, but it clealry just the body flexing and not the constant noise I had earlier.

I have seen others saying the noise come back w/ the new seals. If it does, all I can do is lubricate and complain like heck! But I will be pretty angry if BMW put all that time and effort into redesigning the seals and not have them work as advertised.
