Anyone have experience with the two buttons on the blinker stick rattling? Mine started doing it last week and its been driving me crazy. All I can do is hold the bottons while im driving, and its starting to get really annoying. Any suggestions to get rid of this rattle?

Others have seen this problem...not sure if the fix is a simple one though...

I had this problem when I got my 06 CPO. The dealership replaced basically everything in the steering column, turn signal shaft and the others. They also replace most of the plates and buttons that were worn down from the female model that drove my car prior to me. I figured a female drove my 550i prior to me cause at the top area behind the radio power button, the area was worn down as if the person had long finger nails. Dealership replaced that plate. The reason I say model is cause I found her old Statefarm insurance card all the way back near my CD changer in the glove compartment. I looked her up, she was a local Miami model, not too bad looking, but wasn't top rated. I saw a pic of her on this Tropical website, but her pics have since been removed. I feel a little better knowing a model drove my car before me since I would think a man would have drove the 550i real hard.

I had this problem in my 07 550. The rattling came from the the two little buttons on the blinker arm. Ghetto, but I shoved some really small fabric pieces into the gap between the button and the housing to fix the sound temporarily (cause I got sick of holding it with my finger, hah), and it went away. Decided to just leave it that way.

funny you should say that as the paint was worn off around my volume button as if female nails had scratched it, i managed after a bit of a fight to get my panel replaced, got a nice shiny aluminium one now.

Had the same problem with my 07 525 and it was fixed under warranty. They replaced the stalk.

I had this problem and used my kids Colorwonder modeling clay (black) and stuffed into the gap in the back. Worked great.

Same here on my 07 525i, I never got it replaced since I just got used to the noise along with the door seal noise and anything else rattling..
Plus it was a lease and I didn't want bother with it.

I had the same problem when I picked up my CPO. I just cut some 1/4" cubes of weather stripping and shoved them in the little hollows on the back of the buttons with tweezers. 1 or 2 for each button. You'll be rattle free and the best part is they still work!

Yeah, the sales rep went out of his way for me. Sad thing is while I never knew much about BMWs, I obviously knew more than him. I started answering my own questions and finishing his statements. I guess the salesman never owned a BMW either - lol. I've always known more than every car I ever bought, more than the salesman. Also, besides the miles on my car, you couldn't sit in mine and not think it's new. Inside and out.
