Last week, while in France, I stayed one night at a hotel 45 kms North of Paris.

The following morning, before I sat to eat my breakfast, the hotel receptionnist came to me and recommended that I have a look at my car in the parking lot.

Surprised, I asked her how come she knew which car I got. She replied that she did not know exactly which car I own but she indicated that nine cars out of ten in the parking lot were vandalized during the night.

I believe my heart skipped two or three beats when I realized what happened.

When I got out of the hotel, I could not believe what I saw: broken car windows, pried doors from the side or from the top, bended doors, damaged locks, on old and new cars.

I was walking towards my car when I noticed that the car parked left of mine had the driver's door pried and bended. The car on the right of mine had a broken windows with glass all over the place.

I finally had the courage to look straight at my brand new 2005 black saphirre 545i. What a surprise! No broken windows, no bended door, no punctured tire, not even a tiny scratch...Nothing. It was the 10th car!!!

I calmed down, took a large breath, smiled and noticed that my alarm light under the rear view mirror was still flashing.

Were they scared of the alarm? Did they like the car? Did they respect this beauty? Was it protected from above? We will never know but I am convinced that they have admired this E60 for a while before they left the crime scene peacefully without remorse.

I am sure that I lost hair that morning :'(

A black E60 maybe looks too aggresive to beat on..

Wonder what had triggered your alarm?

Alarm wasn't triggered. Blinking light means alarm is set to trigger. Perps are probably e60.net cultists.

Good news story that Lucky you

One of my neighbours has a fully pimped E60 dripping with body kit and big chromed wheels. And I always hope any car scratching nutter will eye his up first. Actually I hope nobody will touch either.
