Title pretty much says it all. I started out with a 5K mile interval, then 6K, and now Blackstone is telling me that 7K should be fine.
I wasn't surprised at the level of gas in the oil. The sample was taken during my "free" oil change from the dealer, so I'm sure they just started it and drove it into the bay.

Ok I'll admit it, I'm an idiot. What is this telling me? That the best time to change my oil would be every 7k miles?
Take a look at this site to get an idea of the benefits of oil testing: http://www.blackstone-labs.com/

Not really. To find the best time to change YOUR oil, you'd need to get your oil tested. This is telling you that the best time to get MY oil changed is every 7K miles.

Well since we have the same car, I'll live my oil testing vicariously through you!
If we both drove the car the same way, used the same oil, and lived in the same general area, there could be some value to reading my report and comparing to yours and others. However, if there are big differences (such as your Dinan package), it would be a good idea to get your own done. It's only $32 ($10 less if you don't get the TBN test).

That's kind of like skipping your own blood tests and just using someone else's because they're the same height and weight. Each oil test is individual to the car, and you should get your own done if you value oil tests.

I have to take a cholesterol test this week. How tall are you and how much do you weigh? Maybe you could go for me...
Appreciate your info....
