I am running out on things to add to my car
I was looking at black grills. What do you guys think about them on my color car? (Silver Grey Metallic) They look great on a black car, but what about mine? Thanks for your opinions!

Black grills are great on a black car. But on other colors, they should be painted body color.
That's what I did to my E60 years ago, and also to my E90. Here's some pics of both.

I originally got the idea to paint my kidneys from some of my previous cars. I had a 1996 Honda Civic EX Coupe, and then a 1994 Acura Legend Coupe. Honda and Acura have traditionally used chrome window trim and grills on their lower-model and sedan cars, and shadowline trim and painted grills on the higher-end or coupe models. Check out a 1990s Acura Legend sedan vs. the coupe to see the difference in grills.
Anyway, I always hated the look of chrome. So when I got my E60 I knew I had to have shadowline trim. The chrome looks so terrible. But then I still have the chrome grills which looked bad. So when I saw the blackout grills were released, I bought a set and had a friend do the paintwork for me. He matched the paint color of my car and sprayed the trim rings. We left the grill slats black. The look is SO much better. I also like it because I am the only guy on the road with this mod (not including this board, of course).
When I got my 325i, I did the same. Ordered black grills and painted them. Only with the 325i we had to paint the grill slats too. It still looks fine, though.
Painted grill trim definitely gives a tougher, more sporting look.

and on Thursday, Bob Smith BMW is going to do a complete detail on it to remove the swirls they put into my paint a while back.
Now after that, I'd start looking for my pictures!

At Bob Smith, my salesperson threw me the keys and said "Don't take it too far, it's a little low on gas" I drove for a half an hour and several days later BOUGHT the car from them. I've purchased my last 4 BMW's from Bob Smith and have sent ALL my friends there too (between family and friends, it's 20+ cars now). I always get great service, great pricing and no hassles at Bob Smith, so I can't see going anywhere else!
Especially Rusnak where the EMPLOYEE is king and the customer is lucky to get their attention!
Providence - sorry for furthering geneatals attempt at hijacking your thread!

After further review I have decided to...not make a decision. If I had a black car I would definitely do it! I think I may go the painting the grill frame the same color as the car route.
I might change my mind too...who knows
I'm too undecided to make a decision right now...
