Type in birdview and be amazed!?

[quote name='Ralph-NL' date='Sep 27 2005, 05:59 AM']A while ago my gauges (don't know if this is the correct word for it, but i mean my rev en km/h meter) started to go up and down for no good reason. For some strange reason the refitted a COMPLETE new dashboard at the dealer and suddenly I had Birdview on my NAV system! They said I was probably the first person in Holland to have this feature, they hadn't seen it so far.
Now i'm wondering if every new e60 has this feature and how it is in other countries....

The birdview that you have is on Business or professional NAV... please advice

Now birdview on business nav would be fantastic - but a little too much to ask for (or rather expect) I think

I got perspective view a few months ago when my CIP was upgraded, and while it's cool to look at, I find it less useful when using nav, because it doesn't show street names.

I agree, but on the screen displayed in this thread, there are street names. I cannot find an option for names in the menu. Anybody know how?

Those aren't street names--they're city names (Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood). I also get city names, but street names would be much more useful.

When perspective view first came out, people seemed to rave about it.

I think it's sooooooooo overrated. Who needs clouds? I can see those. And I know the horizon is curved too.

Street names would be way more useful. Just my opinion though.

I use the "Map facing North" view when I really need to check the directions. And perspective view when I already know the directions but enjoy having my NAV turn on.

Perspective is what Apple call "eye candy". Great to look at. I don't know about weather features but stars at night and a dark sky would look good! The more I get to understand the prof nav the more intuitive I think it is. I am not one for instruction manuals so it just means I get a new discovery every now and again. My current fav is the choose destination by map, very clever.
