Bimmer = car
Beemer = motorcycle
Beamer = car with the fog lights on during a clear fogless night
No matter what anyone says - it won't make ANY difference.

That's the Bummer!

A Beamer is a projector! My home cinema has a beamer!!

Beemer = BMW Motorcycle
Bimmer = BMW car
Bummer = BMW SUV (X)

In Germany they are simply BMW's.

My point exactly.

However it's Beh Emm Veh (or Bay Emm Vay)...

No Vay!

I might be opening a can of worms here, but do you guys call your cars 'bimmers" or "beamers"?

I'm new here. I've always used bimmer, but almost everyone at work uses beamer when talking about BMW cars. I've tried searches on Google and came up with this.

http://www.bimmer5.com/bimmer-beamer-beemer-bmw.htm
and
http://www.bmwccbc.org/misc/tech-and-trivia/bimmer.html

I just wonder which actual owners think is more correct.

thanks,
Definately Bimmer.... But "bimmer" is more for conversation as an adjuct to what I like to use.... "BMW"

When you're writing about BMW's....I guess just the model is best or BMW. BMW is shorter anyway...

Yes, I am a BMW snob.

Wiktionary

Look under "IPA" (= International Phonetic Alphabet)

I can't tell you uf your way is correct, until I hear it.

If you say the above in english it sounds wrong.
In Germany it would be:

B = Beh
M = Emm
W = Weh
