Biggest rip off are the floor mats at $400.
After I negotiated the deal...I realized the mats were costing me $400. I then tore up the check, and wrote another check for: Negotiated Price - $400 and told the salesman it was that price or nothing...he agreed. That's not my normal way of doing business, but something about that $400...at that particular moment...just didn't set right at all.

I might be wrong, but I understood the carpet-type mats are standard in the 2008 550i. Not so on the 335? Guess I'll find out for sure in a couple weeks when my car shows up.

You can verify things for us but I think you'll find that the US market generally gets floor mats included. Other countries have more of an a la carte selection where just about everything is optional...

Hah! Thanks for reminding me on this......

My last E60 (530d SE) came with NO floor mats. My replacement E61 (530d MSport) is due in a couple of weeks. I just emailed the dealer to say that a ?45K ($90K) car had better come with mats. She was back to me inside a minute to tell me not to worry and that I'd get the best ones they have, included (which begs the question - are there different ones?). She's also throwing in a loadspace liner - although I couldn't get them to give me the OEM dog guard free - it's ?250 UK, which seems pretty expensive.

Anybody have one of these, or can comment on whether the cargo net in the E61 works well as a dog guard. I have a 100lb pooch (Scottish Deerhound). I really don't need her flying from the back to the front in an emergency scenario.

Any option other than Auto/Nav/Sport as those are the three and only three options that raise the value of your trade in (per Blackbook here in US).

That said, we are VERY lucky that BMW does make this many options and allow us to get the exact car we want.

While I don't like paying $1K for comfort access when it is standard on many Lexus and Infiniti models (even some Toyotas and Nissans), I certainly am happy that I at least have the choice to get it and next to the heated steering wheel, it is one of my favorite features of the car - even if it is overpriced!

at least here in the UK we get a 3 year unlimited miles warranty, service exclusive. Its worth more to me than the USA 50k miles service included.

I only got shafted $160 for mats, but they were unbranded.
