I say tire rack for research and best price, then if you talk to the right person at Discout Tire or Tire Discounters they will match. Just tell them you have a coupon code for free shipping
+2... I have dont this on MANY, MANY sets of tires on my last 4 or 6 cars. Either Discount or Big O Tires will usually always match. Plus they get the tires in the next day.

Well for me, Tire rack is a very nice place to research and usually have competitive price but
1) I can always find better price on same model
2) Tire rack doesn't carry some of the brands I prefer
3) after paying separate shipping and handling from TR, plus mount and balancing I hardly save any money
especially my local tire shop carry every tire brand out there and willing to match the price as well.
I save money go by this route.
Yes, I did placed order 6 times before and their service was amazing but...

I've used The Tire rack many times, drop shipped to my local tire shop and NEVER have had ANY problems with them! Admittedly, in this economy, other tire shops (perhaps even the dealer) will price more aggressively, so it's not always the best way to go. Do your footwork, compare prices and then let us know how it all shook out!

My Ride: Jet Black '05 545i, Sport/Premium Pkg, Steptronic, Adaptive Xenon, Nav, L7, Blue2th, PDC,
the best prices are here (at least when i last researched 3 wk ago)
http://vulcantire.com/
they dont mount as they only sell the tires and some other things tire related. shipping was only ~$23 for 2 tires. great prices so savings can be used to mount wheels at your choosing. my tire works locally couldn't match because it was sooo cheap. (they couldn't believe it until i showed them the site). i bought the falkens fk 452 19's and couldn't be any more pleased with 'em. they're in utah so it only took 2 days to get here (Vegas). check them out, you won't be disappointed.

Research at TireRack, purchase at Costco. Costco will give you total price on the web that includes installation, balance, road hazard insurance, etc. In my experience, the Costco price in the end usually beats all others. However, they only carry Michelin (the best choice IMO) and Goodrich. http://tires.costco.com/TSSapp/TireLanding.xhtml BTW, my bro has an X5 and likes the very cheap Kumho's he has on it.

Absolutely the best price hands down. However, it does depend on what brand tire you're purchasing. BJ's and Sam's Club also sells tires, probably different brands. You can't beat the set up of lifetime rotation and balance. Here are the caveats. If you have a staggered set up there's no need for rotation. Balancing is free, however, DON'T let them put run-flats on, a special machine is required.
