Couldn't agree with that more. Thanks for the info/files.

The second looks like some cheap ass interface exactly what got me to brick a module and sent me not sleeping or eating for days. Had to replace the whole DME for someone then couldn't get it aligned because I was using some internet bootleg software. the 2 hours took about 2 months until I caved in. Go with the first one.

Here's a difference that I can point out right away for you. The first one is an authentic cable I love mine, the vm's built are quality and the DIS has the TIS module built into it and this other SSS I can almost guarantee that it will never work you have to configure it and ask user IrishLad all about it. what a ****in nightmare. been there done that. The first doesn't come with that 20 pin adapter and because I work on vehicles that need it 2001 and lower then I needed it so i just got one from their site. But if a cable is blue stay the f*** away from it. Sure it can work for some simple coding for 5 min but run it on a progman update to your car and see what happens.

This has been a very useful thread, glad I found this forum. I've been a member on BimmerForums for quite some time, and that has been a great resource for my E38 and for the E46 we used to have, but that forum is practically useless when it comes to the E60.

I've been looking for a diagnostic solution that would be robust enough to take care of everything on my '05 545i and the '01 740i, and it looks like this from EU Auto Haus will be just the thing! I've an old Toshiba Portege M400 tablet running XP Pro I can dedicate to it and make a garage PC out of.

Special thanks to AchtungE60 for his generous contributions!
