550 repair manual

If you have one of these, can you tell me:

- is it useful?
- is it worth the $

I have never see one, so just wondering about the quality of the information and pictures,etc.

No, it's not worth $150 because I got mine from bimmerzone.com for $95.

Since I just got mine a few days ago I can't tell you how useful it is. However, they do have sections on assembly and disassembly of suspension, interior trim, etc...

I got my 545i manual from Bimmerzone for less than 100 bucks. It's kind of basic in places but has paid for itself already.

 

I just ordered a service manual from Amazon for $98.00. Shop around, I am sure you can get a better price.

 

They just took BMW TIS, added some useless info and charge for it big time. Completely useless manual.
Get yourself a copy of TIS off the Internet, it's free and it's original BMW.

 

I got my Bentley book for free from a friend who gets them more or less in bulk and it has changed my life. It can literally answer almost any question I could have. Pictures are spot on.

 

1) True. But it is nice to have everything in one bound manual.

2) The Internet TIS may not be up very long. The manual will always be there.

 

TIS is "one bound manual". TIS is available as a CD image, no need to rely on Internet.
Having experience with Audi Bentley manual I should add it was pretty crappy software with many bugs, and not very good support.

 

Not my experience at all from former Bentley BMW manuals, significantly more than just an edited TIS, and much more comprehensive. Will provide feedback, just ordered mine from Bimmerzone.
