Ok everyone I am trying to decide between these two wheels. Any recommendations or comments? Can anyone tell me the weights of these wheels? Any recommendations on tires. Ummmm.... I like the safety of run flats especially given the serious coin I am about to drop on these rims. I know a lot of people dont seem to like the ride and noise.

Old man with lots of wheel. and wheel vendor, experience checking in.
No question, the BBS is the right one. Superb finish, remarkably light. Got to handle a 20" one the other day, remarkable piece. Yes, super spendy. Whatever. And FWIW, I don't think you're going to be unhappy with the ride quality, especially if you choose the PS 2 or the Pilot AS.
Old man out now.

I wouldn't install run flat tires on such expensive large wheels, since they tend to have a stiffer sidewall and would offer less protection. Any pothole that you hit would result in the wheel taking most of the shock because of the lessened protection.

ACEE, you will be happy with either I am sure. They both very classic designs, with the HRE being a bit more flashy. Given they look similiar, I would choose BBS. The BBS are very strong and very light.
See the thread, with some good posts about BBS from wolverine, esp pg 7.

With the terrible roads we have in Illinois, the fact both the BBS and HRE have the similair look, and the BBS are less expensive- go BBS. Plus, I bet you can get them quicker than the HRE.

If you care about performance, then BBS > HRE.
HRE makes some great looking rims, but there are reports that they fail on the track. The Viper (and maybe also Porsche) clubs actually now outlaw use of HRE rims in their racing events due to the poor performance of HREs in the past. BBS's performance, however, is probably unparalleled.
FWIW, I think the HRE 841R is the best looking wheel out there, and I'd love to get a set for regular street driving. But if I needed something stronger for the track or lots of aggressive driving, I'd go with a set of BBS RS-GTs, BBS RGRs or BBS LMs.
