Battery trickle charger

Hi Guys, apologies if this has already been covered, could'nt find what I was looking for on the search.
I need to trickle charge the car battery on my 2007 E60, cant use a cigar lighter charger on this car as it does "nothing".
Any ideas?

You use the charging contacts in the engine bay.Positive is under a plastic flip-open cover,negative is a nearby stud,details are in the handbook.

Have you checked the fuse box to see if it's only a fuse that disabled your cigarette lighter. At any rate, check this out:
