Hello guys,
yesterday night when I turned the car on, was a little dificult.. the next time the car died on me, one guy help me push to start the car. now this morning I was curios so I start my car, it did start fine but a little weak, then I did it againg and I had my clock reset and also the bell sound when you leave your keys it was super loud, I did a search, I am assuming that this might be the problem the battery R.I.P.
does anyone have an idea of how much a new battery cost?
thanks

A bit of unrequested advice --- get it fixed right now. We waited on my wife's car (2003 525) and paid $100 additional for a tow into the shop!!

Replaced the battery in my 2004 530 last month for about $340 -- 224 for battery and 116 for labor. Used BMW West in Houston, so paid full price. the battery replaced was the factory original, after nearly 5 years and 45k miles.

You definitely need a new battery.
I changed mine a week ago. I did it myself but I'm probably going to dealer to register the battery.
The battery cost 180? and dealer will take 40? for registering. So it's 220? = 282$.

why do you need to register your battery?
they claim it has something to do with idrive compatibility though everyone who has done it with a battery from autozone has not reported any problems.
Honestly a battery is a battery, i dont see how it could be any different and no tech has yet to explain it outside of "well bmw's are so different as cars" blah blah

Like I said I replaced mine without registering, yet.
Everything works fine, it (registering) doesn't have anything to do with iDrive.
But my original battery was 90Ah and the new one is 100Ah so the registering is needed for IBS (intelligent battery sensor) so that the system can charge the battery correctly. I understand it like "calibrating" the system for new battery capacity.
