Heres what a brand new OEM for a 2008 535i looks like. Looks like batteries got a little bigger (110Ah) as the car got more complicated.

Thanks guys, I installed the OEM battery..
I can't figure out a place to hook the tube into? It's on right side (+tive side) of the battery, there a pipe thing which supposedly gets hooked into somewhere on the battery, i can't find the place to hook it on battery..

Lots of posts about registration and if it / or does not work. You decide. As for battery choices check ( since you're in NJ ) PepBoys for their newspaper / flier coupon for $30 off a Bosch Battery. If I recall their regular price for a group 49 / 110 AH battery was about $100/exchange and it is a perfect match for the OEM BMW battery (physically and by capacity - just another option for you!

Its a strange thing with batteries and e60. It is hit and miss some work just fine and some don't!. The only way to avoid this is to buy OEM and replacing it yourself and register the battery.
I have bought Pep boys,Bosch, interstate and I just simply got tired of hit and miss issue regarding after market batteries.
