Battery draining over night after amplifier install
Hey guys, I installed an amplifier to my BMW earlier last week but my battery keeps going flat in the morning. I test and I have at least 4v left in the battery. I'm sure I installed the amplifier correctly. I've never messed up on an amp install before. This one has me really stumped. In my dash I keep getting a trunk open message whenever I start driving. I'm assuming that my problem could be tied in with that instead of my sound system? When I lock the car I no longer get the beep after. I'm at a huge loss with what's going on.

Probably broke a wire in the wiring loom at the hinge. Sounds like it if your car doesn't beep when locked, it probably thinks the trunk is opened .. etc etc. Start searching and reading.

So I fixed that broken wire from the trunk. Luckily only one was damaged. I can now get the beep after locking my car. Hopefully the battery drain is no more! Thanks guys

Well my trunk is now working properly however my battery is still being drained. I'm lost and I don't understand why. I keep reading other forums and everyone talks about either the IBS or the trunk wires being damaged. I know my IBS isn't the problem and I just fixed my wires. Any other ideas as to why it could keep draining?

You have a parasitic drain on your electrical system
I'm sorry I am busy or I would explain how to fix it but here is a link
He explains it well and you will be able to fix your problem
