my battery was dying, the dealer wanted $400-$450 to change my battery with an oem BMW battery, but i went to my local indie mechanic and he installed the appropriate European spec (meets BMW requirements) Interstate battery and i never had any trouble with it at all on my 2004, 545i. and it was only $175 - installed!

went to the dealer and i got hooked up (besides getting ripped off). first quote was 580 but i told him i called and spoke w/ someone that they would do it for 470. so he matched the price on the invoice w/ a discount. not only did he give me the discount he did a free inspection that i needed to do in 3000 more miles for free. would have cost me 160 in a few months but i guess he felt bad for me. either way im glad i registered my battery because my RADIO has better reception. usually when i go to the gym, i go under a building parking lot which cuts all reception out. for some odd reason it works now even 2 floors down. probably getting the right voltage?? glad i went to the stealership in short.
