I have a battery that is reading 11.99~12.00 volts, is that within acceptable range? Where can I find the specified voltage range for BMW batteries? Thanks in advance folks!

Voltage seems low. How old is your ride/battery?

Is that with your motor running or off ? If off, that is low and indicates that the battery is not keeping or not getting charged. If the voltage with the car running is < 12.5v (< = greater than) it is possible your battery is beginning to fail. Another possibility is that you are not driving enough miles each day to adequately charge the battery. Occasional drivers (fewer than 10 miles a day) are advised to connect a battery tender - there are many posts about this - search the forum.

That is the voltage of the battery with the engine/car off.

Depending on your driving habits - number of starts and weather condition. Hot summers, cold winters. 4-5 years would be an acceptable time table to change the battery. Sure you could go longer but who wants to be the victim of a dead battery.
