Bad rear strut mounts or struts?

Bad rear strut mounts or struts?
So guys, I lowered My 2008 550i and days in and I started hearing some noises in the back turns out my strut broke right through my strut mounts and damaged my seat belt. Both rear strut mounts. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I had the same issue. Turns out the installer didn't reuse the top supporting cup. It's part #1 in the following realoem diagram: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=NW13-USA-11-2007-E60N-BMW-535i&diagId=33_1170. This part seems to be doing the job for me. Hope this helps.
