Hello all! My 2005 530i’s CCC unit is bad, it works about 1/2 but then cuts out and gets stuck on the BMW screen and sound cuts out etc.

I’ve seen some ads on Ebay about companies that will repair your CCC if you send it to them, as well as add bluetooth for music which I really want.

The big question is, what route do people take/what should I take? I’d like to have bluetooth in the future but also need to fix/replace the CCC so it works. Is there any easy ish bluetooth add if I get the CCC fixed? Do I upgrade the entire unit to something newer?

It's best to get yours fixed. If you buy used then it's only a matter of time until the replacement goes out. At least you know if you get yours fixed there's no coding involved and you have a warranty. There is a simple fix to the Bluetooth issue by adding a Bluetooth module on the AUX port in back of the iDrive. If you have Aux already then no coding is needed. If you don't have AUX then AUX needs to be coded which is a 5 min max job with BMW software tools.

I do, I don’t have the CD or like paid subscription to it but it is in my iDrive home screen

 

So the DVD is not in the drive?

 

NAV uses DVD. CD slot is above that.

 

If the DVD is there then take it out to see if you're still having the same issue

 

I took the nav CD out, seems like it’s doing the same thing.

 

If I go the route to have my CCC fixed, does anyone know where I should send it? Or who works on them? Thanks!
