I have found the 17" 245 rft I have on the current E60 to be a far worse ride that the standard 17" 255 I had on the previous car and when the rubber wears out will definately change to non-run flat. Its interesting to note that on the F10 in the UK you can specify from new non-rft so the safety claims BMW made so vigorously with the E60 they are no longer making as forcefully with the F10 which most car mags in the UK say has a more compliant ride anyway (some say this is a negative). The car credited with the best ride / sporty feel now is the Jaguar XF it seems Jaguar engineers have got this balance better and in the UK at least with such poor roads that very important. I had an Audi Q5 which I quickly ditched because on UK roads the ride quality was frankly dreadful its definately an area German premium brands need to work on both Lexus and Jaguar are better.
