Shame it was raining in Germany, but I see you went past the new glass train station / hotel at Frankfurt Airport --- there's a good derestricted stretch just after that where you could hit 155mph
I lived near Frankfurt for 10 years so got very used to the high speeds. It now takes me 5-10km to adjust to the high speed cruising whenever we head back, because 120mph/200kph is normally notibly faster than anyone else on the autobahn, and 155mph/250kph is much much faster than others! (Mrs xBMWx also has a go at me if I push it past 135mph/220 kph, so I can sympathise
)
You are right about Austria (and Southern Germany); great drives and scenery. We went down that part of the world on the last 5Series.Net European Meet and were all amazed at what we saw and how much fun it was to drive around there.
Great to hear the car performed so well throughout the trip -- in my mind this what the 5er does best
