I turned my 2007 E-60 550i in last January 18th, and the end of the 3 year lease. The plan was to get a new F-10 in Munich, save some green and live another three years with the F-10. However, I got so frustrated with the complete lack of information forthcoming on the F-10, that I decided to hell with it, and headed down to buy the Jaguar XF supercharged. Then I had an epiphany, and called the stealer to find out if my old car was still on the lot, gads yes he said, we have it marked down to $34,900. This is a almost 8,000 below the residual, and both the NADA and Kelly Blue Book had the car (Which is a CPO now) at over 37,000. SO I pulled the trigger, bought the car back, and it is sitting in my garage now waiting for me to put all the stuff back in that I took out. BMW has a screaming 2.9% interest rate for 66 months. Took four minutes to fill out the app, get my old keys back, another ten to print the paper work, and I am back in the car. Driving it home, felt like sliding between the sheets with an old lover, or swilling that first taste of cognac. God how I missed this car. One interesting thing to note, although the car had a high residual, buying it back at 34.9 k saved me almost 8 k in negative equity. Plus the dealership put four new tires on it (Crappy Dunlop Runflats) detailed it, and gave me a dozen Titleist V1 BMW logo golf balls...

Nice! IMO the e60 is still one of the nicest/aggressive styles currently, as well as anything coming out in the near future. The more I look at the F10, the more I like the e60. Kinda makes me appreciate BMW having the balls to stick with the "in your face/raw" styling when so many rediculed it at launch!

Wow great story. That's one way to end a lease with a purchase.

So, did you trade in the jaguar? If so, was the XF that bad and how much of a hit did you take when you traded it in?
