I am scheduled to pickup my 545i on April 5. Any must visit places in Salzberg and Vienna? Did you drop off the car in Vienna? Anything special for Veinna drop off?

My itinery Munich - Fussen - Salzberg - Vienna.

Did you remove the triangle hazard sign, first aid, floor mats, Euro plate before the drop off?

My advice, give yourself half a day for travel time, and at least another full day in each city. We did Munich -> Leipzig -> Stuttgart -> Salzberg -> Vienna. Too much in six days, but still fun. I will get back with you on the specifics for each city, but Vienna is MUCH bigger than I thought. Salzberg was quaint and cleaner. Dropped off in Vienna, no issues. I did pack the triangle, tools, et all. I also checked in for the return flight the night before - big help. Cab cost about 30 Euro from drop off point to airport (only ten min drive). Stayed in the NH hotel the last night at the Vienna airport. You must stay there. It was one of the nicest hotels I have been to in a while. Very modern and spacious by Euro standards, and I got a rate of 120 for the night. I left the floor mats. They better be there when I pick it up. I took a billion pix as I dropped it off!

I am only going to be there 7 days due to my work schedule. I already booked Le Meridian Vienna for $110 per night via Priceline and NH Hotel Salzberg for $90, KURCAFE Fussen for $154. I couldn't get any good hotel for a reasonable price in Munich due to a trade show or conference in town. Settled for Holiday Inn at $83.

I was told that VPC will replace the Euro floor mats with US spec floor mats. If you want to keep them, you have to remove them prior to drop off. I hope that's not true, because it's ridulous to carry dirty floor mats in the luggage.

I thought I read somewhere that surprisingly, floor mats do not come with the car. If you want them, your dealer will charge you the $100+ for them or they will throw them in as a freebie (for being their customer).

But according to what I read, the VPC isn't adding floor mats. This is all just what I read -- I do not know this for sure...
