I was told by my dealer that the secondary waterpump is leaking. Does anyone know where this is located or have a diagram? I cant find it on realoem.

well i just looked at that waterpump, it looks like its bolted to the frame on the drivers side right behind the radiator. I could not see ANY coolant leaking from it. It was not even wet. They must be smoking crack at that dealership.

it could be leaking while under pressure. have you noticed any coolant loss? the best way to check would be to use a cooling system pressure tester. otherwise, drive the car til it reaches operating temperature, then check around the secondary waterpump for visible leaks. also, dried coolant has a white appearance to it when it dries. look for white spatters in the area of the secondary pump.

No, no white marks around them pump. I checked after i drove home from the dealership. I know they did not pressure test it...i did not go in complaining about this. The SA said it was almost pissing out. I did not see ANY evidence of a coolant leak. I am in the automotive field and know what to look for as well. Nothing even on the splash guard. Coolant level is right above the the chamber in the overflow tank.

Yeah, I used to work on BMW's and I never saw a secondary waterpump go bad either mechanically or electrically. But if no coolant loss and no evidence of leaks, leave it be.
