It has literally been years since I visited the forum. My 5er is still going strong after more than seven years. About to hit 60K miles!

I'll be interested in knowing how the AUX install job goes.

Regards, and best of luck!

When I picked it up on Friday evening, they said there was no sound yet, but the car needed to go into sleep mode to regain full functionality after programming. They said programming completed without error, so if audio didn't come on later it might be a faulty hardware jack.

Fast forward to Saturday/Sunday and still no audio. I get my work done out of town since labor is about half, so it will be months until it is remedied. Not cool. Figure I will blast them in the survey.

Also, does anyone know the oil change intervals for the N52? My computer is saying 6,000 miles and it's usually double that. The car is about to turn 60,000..

...still no audio.
Bad news!

I believe the OCI defaults to 15,000 miles when the CBS is reset. The computer is supposed to adjust the actual service interval projection based on oil temp, load, fuel consumption, etc.

Being somewhat "old school", 15K mile OCI's are just too long for me, even using BMW-approved GC 0W-30 full synthetic oil. So far, I like 7,500 mile OCI's for my '06 E61's N52.

HTH, and best of luck with the audio issue!

Actually, I think the oil wasn't changed on the 60,000 service. That probably explains the 6,000 mile interval.

I was wanting to install and aux jack myself. If you don't mind me asking which one are you using or where did you get it from.

Thanks!
