Aux (Again)

Hi Everyone
Newbie here, been doing some searching and getting conflicting answers so I hope someone can help. I have an 04 530iSE, no Aux input. This is not a problem in itself, but I have just obtained a Dension Icelink Lite, which as I understand it plugs into the back of the head unit, and you need to select the Aux option on the idrive to listen to my ipod.
I have been led to understand I can ask the dealer to "activate" the aux option on the head unit (without having the plug added) and this will then work, can anyone confirm or deny this?
