You can do that with older BMWs as well. Thanks for taking the time to post the video. I'm sure many people haven't seen this yet...

Save it first to your computer -- it's a Quicktime .mov file so you'll need a QT player...

Is it a combo of buttons? Or do you just push the trip reset button briefly. car on or off? Key position? I saw the video but there seemed to be a couple of other attachments in the post that were red xd.

Just press trip button while you turn ignition key first position.
Then release trip button.
You will see numbers on little orange display (VIN and others)
Press again trip button you will go on test , release , wait till oo (zero-zero) appears, then press again trip button show will start.
At the end pressing again, autotest will restart.
Enjoy.
Other attachments are pictures of the same video, you can try right click show image or right click , property, copy url address, paste in a new windows of browser.

Works fine for me on Windows XP pro, but I tried the instructions above and can't seem to get it to work in the car.

I just tried it.

Push the mileage button and simultaneously insert key and move to Pos 1. (Not further). Then cycle through the information. One of the items was SW but I did not recognise the number. Maybe have to search through post by Urbo to see how it translates to CIP version. Cycle till you see KI test then push again. The show begins.
