Thumbs up

I am confused about the Automatic settings...

I looked in the manual and it mentions about adjusting them and where, but does not say what each setting really means. I'm seeing arrows and stuff on the lever, but what do they mean? Anyone know? I have experimented with them and I'm not seeing a lot of difference (faster, slower, intervals, etc). Again, I am only referring to the AUTOMATIC mode.

Thanks all...

Rolling the little dial up and down makes them more and less sensitive. I think it's basically increasing or decreasing the amount of water that the sensor sees before it sends the wipers to clear the windshield.

You'll only really see a difference in a light/medium rain. If it's really rainy, then all settings will result in constant movement, and if it's just misting, then it'll take forever on any setting. But in a medium sprinkle/rain, it will change how often they work.

on my Singapore car - which i believe is close to Euro specs - rolling the switch downwards - decreases the sensitivity. rolling it upwards increases it - hence up for more wipes more often... i usually just activate auto - here in the tropics it usually just pours - doesn't matter what sensitivity i set it at. but after the rain stops & when the splash off other cars land on my windscreen - that's when the AUTO is really useful.

Nice question I was wondering too. I think I would prefer to contol this system myself. It's not really growing on me like I thought it would.
