Does anyone know what would cause the passenger side mirror to stop automatically adjusting while in reverse?

TIA

Did the mirror selector switch get bumbed? The passenger mirror only changes when the switch is in one postion( Can't remeber if it's driver side of Passenger side)

I would like to know the answer to that one myself, I've had the mirror adjust button in both positions (left and right) and the tilting reverse function doesn't seem to work in either.

Well did you check the selector switch as noonehome suggested? 99% of the time, that's the problem...

I believe the passenger mirror only drops in reverse when the mirror switch is set to the left. It won't move (unless manually adjusted) if the position is to the right.

Pardon my ignorance folks, but is the mirror drop function an option? I have never had my mirror adjust itself ... ever ...

This is correct - at least in my wife's new 2007 328xi. The mirror adjust selector switch must be left (driver's side) to enable the passenger side mirror to angle downward while in reverse gear. I imagine this is the way your car works too.

That would explain why I have never had it happen on my car.

Thanx

Thanks everyone for the quick response!! This did solve the issue but certainly not intuitive at all. Oh well, now I know. When I first got the car I couldn't figure out how to unlock the doors from the inside. This German engineering definitely has a learning curve.
