I've have a few friends that are very much into autocross. They've been pretty successful in getting me interested in getting out there with my 545i. Has anyone here done this with an E60, or even better, a 545i similar to mine (see sig)? How was it? What types of cars did you compete against? How was it with the steptronic?

I have a 2004 545i sport package and a triptronic transmission. I did a auto cross last weekend. It was through the SCCA and it cost about 60 dollars for eight runs. Man this was one of the funnest thins that I have ever done. I took a 2/32 off my right rear tire. A little advice, it is fun to hall ass and burn rubber, try it a couple of times. But I got better time coming out of the corners a little slower then punch it. Out of ten people I got first place in novice. Now I cant be novice anymore. I definetly recemend it. You will love it. The cars that were out there were Miatas mostly, Porche, Bmw, Camero, Mustang, pro shifter cars, rx-7, rx-8. Man you name it. The Miatas pretty much own the place. But I beet a lot of them by a few seconds.

Awesome! How did you manage the shifting aspects - DS or M? Leave DSC/DTC on or shut them off? Did they class you against similar cars, or was it one against all?
