My windshield suffered a stress-fracture recently and I got it replaced through insurance. However, Autoglass did not fit an OEM but one from a different manufacturer, apparently my insurance does not cover OEM replacement.
Anyway, both auto-lights and auto-wipers generally work fine, or so I thought. During recent heavy rains, I noticed that wipers set on auto-mode no longer go on double-speed when it comes down in buckets, they simply stay on normal speed. Happened twice on two different days, both times I had to manually override and turn on double-speed such was the intensity of the rain.
I am 100% sure that double-speed used to work on auto-wipers prior to the windshield change.
Has anyone come across something like this before?
It is going to be quite difficult to prove this to my insurance/Autoglass. Any advice would be welcome.

I would imagine the auto glass has some markings on it. Get the model info and look it up online. There is probably a cross reference to what cars with what options.

They did bring the wrong windscreen first. The replacement that they finally brought was meant to be identical to the original in the car. It would be interesting if the new screen is made to support one wipe mode (normal speed) and not the other (fast wipe).
