Auto window closing with CA

I have a "new to me" 2008 528xi with comfort access. I am confused on the automatic closing of windows and sunroof. Whe I exit and lock the car by touching the door handle, the windows do not close. In my manual there's an asterisk beside this function, leading me to believe that's it's an option over and above the comfort access option. Can someone clarify for me? Should this work for me with comfort access?

You'll have to hold your hand to the driver door handle for a few seconds to engage the closing feature - and if you remove your hand while in-process the windows (and glass roof too) will stop moving. A safety feature!

I guess I wasn't holding my hand there long enough. The doors would lock, but it wouldn't close the window. I just tried again, kept my hand there longer, and while on the first try it did nothing.... I unlocked and tried again....and presto! Up the window went! So it appears that I have to learn the technique. Thanks for the lesson!
